Open a bank account

Opening a Hong Kong bank account is often the least certain step. How much, or on what terms, depends on each bank's own risk appetite; there is no single public guarantee.

What you can prepare: consistency

A bank's review looks for consistency between your registration details, address and stated purpose. Aligning the incorporation certificate, business registration, address and business description before you apply reduces back-and-forth. The outcome is decided by the bank, not by whoever submits.

Decided by the bank

Whether an account opens, or stays open, is ultimately the bank's own decision against its own criteria. A decline does not mean your paperwork is wrong; different banks apply different standards.
