Address is one place Hong Kong compliance keeps coming back to. The law sets an explicit display requirement for a company's name; how you arrange an office and registered address depends on your actual operation.
Legal requirement: display your company name
A Hong Kong company must display its name in legible form at its registered office on a continuing basis. Section 659 of the Companies Ordinance authorises the display and disclosure rules; section 3(1) of the Companies (Disclosure of Company Name and whether it is a Limited Company) Regulation (Cap. 622B) is that requirement. The Registry has convictions for failing to comply (multiple cases dated 2018 to 2020).
How to choose an address
Your registered address and business address may differ: you can use a serviced office, a virtual office, or an address managed by a licensed service provider. The choice depends on whether you need a physical base, and on what banks or platforms require.
